Woman pays tribute to her 2 friends who have graduated with PhDs (photos)

A woman from Pietermaritzburg in South Africa took to Twitter handle to celebrate her two friends who graduated with PhDs.

Identified as @Ndumkazi, she shared photos of her friends, Xoliswa Majola and Nomkhosi Luthuli, at their graduation ceremony at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Both Xoli and Nomkhosi obtained PhDs in Leadership Studies. They also both lectured at UKZN's Graduate School of Business and Leadership.

Nomkhosi's thesis focused on Regional Economic Development, Agglomeration Economics and the Aerotropolis. For her part, Xoli researched a Conceptual Model for a Management Information System for Local Economic Development Practice in KwaZulu-Natal.

Writing on Facebook, Nomkhosi said she and Xoli initially aimed to complete their PhDs in 18 months after finishing the Master's degrees in just six months.

Although they eventually took longer, she said she couldn't be prouder of finally obtaining it. This is an exceptional achievement considering she's just 28 years old.

A proud Nomkhosi also shared a video of the moment she was conferred with the degree. She accompanied it with the caption:

Nothing more memorable than this here moment of my life. So now that you’ve witnessed me getting capped, I present myself to you as Dr. Nomkhosi Hlengiwe Luthuli.

Tweeps congratulated the two brilliant women.
