- Blues star Loftus-Cheek to miss this weekend's Premier League clash against Cardiff
- He will also be out of his team's Europa League curtain raiser against PAOK Salonika in Greece
- The England midfielder was injured during the Three Lions slim victory over Switzerland earlier this week
Chelsea star Reuben Loftus-Cheek has been ruled out of action for about two weeks after picking up a foot injury in England's 1-0 win over Switzerland in an international friendly encounter.
The 22-year-old limped out of the pitch in the 61st minute in the game that took place at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, September 11.
However, his impressive start for the Blues this season might have suffered a set back as he will be out of this weekend's clash against Cardiff City.
He will also be left out of the squad to battle PAOK Salonika in their Europa League opener in Greece next Thursday.
He is also doubtful for his side's EFL Cup clash against Liverpool on Wednesday, September 26.
Loftus-Cheek spent the last season on loan at Crystal Palace where he scored twice in 24 appearances for the Glaziers.
His hopes of fighting for his place in Maurizio Sarri's team may not be possible due to the arrival of Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid joining N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in the midfield.
Meanwhile, the Blues handler was said to have held talks with Loftus-Cheek after being left out of the matchday squad in the victory over Arsenal, although the midfielder stayed at the club as the European transfer deadline passed.
But he admitted he could look at a loan move, with Palace interested in re-signing him in January, to cement his England place.
NAIJ.com earlier reported German League outfit Schalke 04 wanted to sign Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.
The 22-year-old was part of the Chelsea team that spanked Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
The Mirror reported that the former England U-21 star is also being linked with a number of top European clubs.
