- The PDP national leadership had used automatic tickets to lure some lawmakers into the party
The Bauchi state chapter of the PDP has ruled out automatic ticket for aspirants seeking various elective offices in the 2019 general elections.
The state PDP spokesperson, Yayanuwa Zainabari, said there is no automatic ticket for anyone.
He said the party has also not offered automatic tickets to serving members of the National Assembly who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senators Suleiman Nazif and Hamma Misau, as well as Speaker Yakubu Dogara, are the notable politicians who joined the PDP from the APC.
Zainabari stated that all the defectors have to go through primaries to get the tickets, stressing that there are other politicians contending for the seats.
The PDP national leadership had used automatic tickets to lure some federal lawmakers into the party, a decision that didn't go down well with some state chapters of the party.
