- Cristiano Ronaldo will only be banned for the match against Young Boys
- The Portuguese ace was sent off in the Champions League against Valencia
- The former Real Madrid will be back to face Manchester United at Old Trafford
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo will make a return to Manchester United's home ground Old Trafford in the Champions League next month.
The 33-year-old was sent off during Juventus 2-0 win over Valencia after an off-the-ball incident with Colombian defender Jeison Murillo.
However, the Portuguese superstar has now been automatically handed a one-game ban for the dismissal as his return to Old Trafford on October 23 is now confirmed.
UEFA have confirmed that the former Real Madrid striker's one match ban will stand, meaning he would only miss the tie with Young Boys in Turin.
Ronaldo is now cleared to face his former club and ex-manager at Old Trafford and will be hoping to open his account in the competition.
Bianconeri's boss Max Allegri has stated that the incident that led to Ronaldo's sending off would have been handled properly with the use of the VAR.
"I can only say that VAR would have helped the referee make the right decision," Allegri said.
"Mostly because it was the 29th minute in the first half in a difficult game, to find yourselves with 10 men for a red card, that was not right."
The European governing body had earlier announced that the VAR would be introduced in the competition next season.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Juventus defeated Bologna by 2-0 in a Serie A match played at the Allianz Stadium.
Paulo Dybala scored the first while Cristiano Ronaldo provided the second for Blaise Matuidi in the 15th minute to continue Juve's perfect run.
