Governor Akinwunmi Ambode seems to be gearing up for the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election as it was announced that he will address a world press conference.
In a tweet by Steve Ayorinde who is the commissioner for tourism, art and culture, he said the governor would give the address on Sunday, September 30.
This is a day before the party’s primary election.
Governor Ambode is expected to face stiff completion from Jide Sanwo-Olu who is considered the choice of APC chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Ahead of the primaries, ralieis have intensified in support of Governor Ambode across the state.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s support group had been making a move to lobby for the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and 57 council chairmen's nods ahead of the state governorship primary of the APC.
The move by Ambode’s loyalists had cancelled the speculation making the rounds that Ambode was planning to withdraw from the race due to unfavourable indices against him
It was also gathered that some members of the GAC were still making last minute efforts to reach out to other members in order to have a rethink before the governorship primary.
