The Ogun state chapter of the APC vows to oppose alleged plans to impose a candidate in the state’s governorship primary
The chapter threatens to boycott the primary if the party's national working committee fails to disclose a date and mode of the poll
The Ogun state chapter of the All progressives Congress (APC) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the party’s national chairman Adam Oshiomhole over what it described as an alleged plan to impose a particular candidate ahead of the state’s governorship primary.
The Punch reports that the secretary to the state government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, during a live broadcast accused the national headquarters of APC of acting out a script all in its determination forcefully to impose a candidate in the Ogun chapter.

With all due respect, we are not known for reckless, irresponsible allegations; but it appears a carefully written script is being directed by the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole," Adeoluwa said.
“We have learnt on good authority that the national headquarters of APC is determined and desperate to force a particular candidate on the people of Ogun State. We will be ready for them and we shall do nothing unlawful.
“In Ogun State, we shall not participate in any primary unless and until the National Working Committee specifically writes to us on a date that will not shift and agree on the mode of primary.”
