A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and the governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, is currently holding a closed-door meeting with former president Olusegun Obasanjo at the former leader’s residence in Abeokuta, Daily Trust reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that Tambuwal who is on a nationwide consultations with delegates of his party ahead of the convention slated for Port Harcourt, has met former presidents including Ibrahim Babangida.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, began consultations for his presidential aspiration in Ebonyi state.
The front-line PDP aspirant was in Ebonyi on Friday, September 13, to meet with party delegates in the state ahead of the presidential primary election of the PDP scheduled for Saturday, October 6.
During the visit, governor of Ebonyi state and chairman of the southeast governors' forum, Dave Umahi declared that Tambuwal has all it takes to lead Nigeria.
Governor Umahi who was represented by his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, said Tambuwal and his presidential campaign team at Government House, Abalaki, said the former speaker of the House of Representatives has the leadership qualities to lead Nigeria, especially at a critical time like this.
