There was sporadic shooting during one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s primary election for the House of Representatives, which took place at the headquarters of Etche local government area, Rivers state.
A hot argument had ensued between a group of persons suspected to be political thugs, who had gained entry into the venue of the exercise, Punch reports.
NAIJ.com gathers that a source, who identified himself as Benson, alleged that some party members had brought the thugs to the venue.
In a bid to scare people away, some of the thugs reportedly tied objects suspected to be charms, during the shooting, which lasted for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that some presidential aspirants on the platform of the PDP, faulted the party's decision to move the presidential convention slated for October 6 to Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The aspirants questioned the rationale behind moving the convention to Rivers state, and some demanded for an alternative venue.
The decision to have the important convention in Port Harcourt was made at a meeting between the PDP governors and National Working Committee (NWC) on Thursday, September 13.
