Going by the tough state of things in the entertainment industry, it is not very easy to keep being relevant, and artistes love to get any form of recognition they can, especially if it is for a positive reason.
International award, MTV European Music Award (EMA), has recognized some outstanding African artistes for their works in the music industry through the award for the Best African Act.
A few artistes from some African countries were nominated for the category including Nigeria’s own Davido and Tiwa Savage.
Other Africa acts nominated for the award includes Distruction Boyz from South Africa, Fally Ipupa from Congo, Nyanshinski from Kenya and finally, Shekinah also from South Africa.
According to Monde Twala, the Vice President for Youth, Music and BET at Viacom International Networks, he explained that the MTV EMA seeks to acknowledge the diversity and talent of African artistes through the Best African Act category.
He said: “Our nominees reflect the continents diversity and talent on par with international artists. Congratulations to all our Africa nominees, who continue to affirm Africa’s place on the global stage.”
Tiwa Savage is no doubt one of Nigeria's top female artistes and she is gradually making her way to the world stage.
While Davido has proven that he is more than just a rich kid, but that he also has a passion for making good music.

On Friday, October 20, 2017, Tagbo Ifeatuchukwu Umeike was laid to rest after he died of suffocation. The deceased was one of the close friends of popular Nigerian singer Davido.
A year after the tragic loss, the singer has taken to social media to pay tribute to his late friend. Davido shared a photo he took with Tagbo on his Instagram page with a tribute message to his late friend.
