- A while back, Instagram comedian Toheeb caused a buzz on social media after his comic imitation of Cardi B was acknowledged by the rapper
- However, not everyone found this funny as animal right activist, Kenya, has called him out for using live chicken for the photo, stating it was animal cruelty
- The comedian in turn reacted to her criticisms, appearing very unbothered about it
While Nigerian social media comedians tend to have quite the audience on the platform, it doesn't always get the expected reaction. Instagram comedian, Toheeb known for mimicking celebrity photos got quite the recognition made a parody photo of Cardi B clad in a beautiful pink gown adorned with huge feathers.
However after Cardi B acknowledged the photo in which Toheeb used a live chicken, a foreign dancer and animal right activist has taken to social media to condemn Cardi B for endorsing the act and the comedian, for animal cruelty. She expressed how disgusted she was and went on to say the post wasn't funny.
She wrote: "Honestly, reading the comments on this post makes me sick to my stomach. How could ANYONE think that this is funny? Chickens are BEAUTIFUL and SENTIENT animals. We've objectified them for so long- to the point where people don't see a problem with this.
If this outrages you, like it did me- please go to @funnytoheeb's (the guy in the picture) instagram as well as @iamcardib's page and let them know that this is CRUEL.
Nigerians however, did not take it likely with what they beleived was a 'foreigner coming for their own'. Funny Toheeb also reacted to the criticisms of his work. Sharing the video of Kenya condemning the act, he wrote:
"This Oyinbo people get time sha person wey never chop na him u Dey follow talk about animal abuse,,,my chickens are not even complaining oooo."
