- Sani reportedly intensifies effort to get APC senate ticket
Senator Shehu Sani has praised President Muhammadu Buhari for dissociating himself from a purported letter in circulation, which alleged that the president had authorised a governor to deal with traitors and disloyal members of APC, especially Shehu Sani.
Sani in a tweet on Sunday, October 7, applauded the president for clearing the air over the issue, adding that he never believed that Buhari would have given such directions.
He also said the president’s denial had exposed an executive lie from a state governor.
"Thank you President Buhari for clearing the air on the calumnious memo ;Even though I never believed that the President can ‘Direct’ a Governor to “recall a disloyal Senator”.Another executive lie bursted," the senator said.
In another report, Senator Shehu Sani has reportedly intensified efforts to convince the Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to give him a return ticket to the Senate in 2019.
Sources within the party reportedly told Leadership that the senator representing Kaduna central senatorial zone has become increasingly desperate as the date for the APC Senate primaries draws nearer.
Another party member who also does not want his name disclosed said Senator Aliyu Wammako has also spoken to Buhari on Shehu Sani’s behalf.
