The Spaniard has been laid back with injury problems despite been a key figure in Jose Mourinho's team.

However, Herrera will be looking to fight for Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini's place in the starting line up after the international break.

His former club Bilbao, tried to sign him during the summer and are prepared to make him the highest player if he chooses to make a switch in January.

Herrera was signed for £29million when he joined from Athletic to Manchester in 2014. He has had interest from top European clubs including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan recently.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has said Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League, despite Mo Salah scooping all the awards this season, Daily Mail reports.
