Mimiko in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Eni Akinsola, stated this at a special thanksgiving service at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Akure.

He noted that all the achievements of his administration in the critical sectors of human endeavours would not have been possible if God had not been on his side.

He said, “We will continue to seek the face of God for direction at all times.”

“I want to assure you that I will not disappoint the people in whatever action we shall continue to take to the glory of God and the benefit of our people.”

Mimiko commended the people of the state for overcoming the various challenges they confronted during the election.

He said, “I am particularly happy that you turned down financial inducement aimed at truncating your wishes.”

The presiding Pastor 0f the Chapel, Rev. Akin Ibitokun in his sermon, urged the people to always celebrate the goodness of God with thanksgiving at all times.

He charged the governor not to relent in his good works and in giving praises to God in whatever circumstances.

Meanwhile, the Omoluabi Platform, a political group in Ondo State, on Sunday, described Mimiko’s victory at the poll as the people’s rejection of imposition of candidates.

The group, formed by former Minister of Defence, Dr. Olu Agunloye, to help realise his governorship ambition, said the outcome of the poll was a reflection of the wishes of the majority of the people of the state.

The spokesperson for the group, Mr. Wemi Ajegbemiga, said the election showed that the people of the state would always reject imposition of leaders on them.

Ajegbemiga said, “Members of the group both at home and in the Diaspora are happy with the outcome of the election because we worked hard for the victory of Labour Party in our various polling centres in the state.”
