PREMIUM TIMES had exclusively reported the emergency meeting which is different from the weekly FEC meetings that hold on Wednesdays.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, communicated the postponement, in a letter, to all ministers on Monday.

Although no reason was given, the postponement may not be unconnected with the air disaster which claimed the lives of the Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa; and former National Security Adviser and FEC member, Andrew Azazi.

Nigeria’s FEC meeting is traditionally held weekly on Wednesdays and is attended by all ministers, presidential advisers, the Vice President, and the President who presides over the meeting.
