The Permanent Secretary of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ESUBEB), Dr. Chike Eneh, has said that at no time was he arrested over the reported recent burglary of its accounts department.
Eneh was reacting to some newspaper reports, which had stated that a certain permanent secretary was arrested with others over the alleged crime.
However, a statement on his behalf by Ugochukwu Eze, affirmed that “at no time did the Police arrest Eneh in connection with any alleged burglary at ESUBEB or at all.”
He insisted that Eneh had at various times been the Director of Public Prosecutions, Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General at the Ministry of Justice, all in Enugu State and could not have been involved in any crime. “He is also a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru,” he said.
