Make-up Art Cosmetics has announced its debut in the Nigerian market with the inauguration of its first store in Lagos.
The brand, in partnership with Essenza Company, unveiled the store at the Ikeja City Mall.
A statement by the company said it came to the country to meet the growing demand for its products in the Nigerian and African markets.
The statement quoted the Global Brand President, MAC, Ms. Karen Buglisi, as saying that the company was set to give Nigerians the opportunity to access and obtain its products with minimal difficulties.
She said, “We have been aware of the growth opportunities in Nigeria and the demand for MAC cosmetics for some time now and we are delighted that we will now be able to bring the expertise of the brand to the Nigerian consumer in our first free-standing store in the Ikeja City Mall.
“To be able to offer the true MAC experience through fully qualified and trained makeup artists, and to ensure that consumers can now purchase authentic MAC products in Lagos is very important to us.”
Buglisi said professional artists who could share the very latest trends, techniques and tips would be on ground to assist customers.
The Manager, Essenza Company, Mr. Kayode Kasumu, said, “We are extremely pleased to be entering into this partnership with the Estee Lauder Companies in bringing MAC to our market. The brand is perfect for the Nigerian woman, who has a strong passion for fun, colour, creativity and fashion. We are confident that this will be a long and fruitful relationship for both of us”.
The statement added that a second MAC store was planned to open at The Palms, Lekki later this year.
MAC was created in Toronto, Canada in 1984 and is part of The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. The company’s popularity grew through a tradition of word-of-mouth endorsements from make-up artists, models, photographers and journalists around the world.
