Plateau Workers Threaten To Resume Strike

Activities may soon be paralysed in Plateau State Government-owned tertiary institutions following a threat by workers to resume their suspended strike over unpaid salaries and allowances.

President of the Joint Unions of Plateau State-owned Tertiary Institutions, Mr. Victor Dawurung, who announced this at a briefing yesterday, said the workers in the six institutions would commence an indefinite strike on Friday if the outstanding issues are not addressed.

He said the state government had despite various appeals, refused to pay the three months salary arrears which accumulated during the protracted strike by the workers last year.
