SSS Was Offered N14m To Influence Osun Election

The spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS), Mrs. Marilyn Ogar, has revealed today how a ''certain political party'' offered two top SSS officials a combined bribe of N14m to influence the Osun State Guber election

Sahara Reporters made it known that the certain party has however been running a battle with the  DSS due to its refusal in accepting the N14 million bribe. The spokesperson who made it known at a press briefing in Abuja earlier today said that one SSS director was offered N4million while another was offered N10million. In her words, she said: “A director in charge of election duties (security) was offered N4 million for himself and N10 millionwas offered to another official; “It is because the money was declined, that is why the 'certain political party' is having a running battle with the DSS. Ogar who praised the SSS officials that monitored the Osun Gubernatorial election said that it was a waste of time for the said party to have offered them bribe, as the officials are well paid  and trustworthy thereby not allowing anyone of them to fall for the bait.

The SSS spokesperson however called on all politicians to desist from involving the agency in any political matter , adding that the presence of security officials at the election was of great  value as it helped in protecting some traditional chiefs from being mobbed by voters.

It would be recalled that the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party at the just concluded Osun state gubernatorial election, Senator Iyiola Omisore,  told newsmen that he is still seeking information from relevant authorities before making any comments on the election that saw his opponent Rauf Aregbesola re-elected.
