The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Secretary, Mr. Matthew Urhogide, on Friday said his party was ready for today’s governorship poll.
“I can say with all modesty that the PDP is prepared for this election. We have done a thorough campaign and have always taken the election with equanimity.
“The people will decide and we also hope the outcome will be acceptable,” Urhogide said.
Expressing confidence in the people’s decision, Urhogide said rural communities were yet to feel the effect of the incumbent government.
He said, “Our party has meticulously gone round all the 192 wards in the state; we know what is on ground. The rural communities are yet to feel the effect of the incumbent; all the amenities available in their communities were provided by previous governors of our party.”
Dismissing the claims that the Benin metropolis had been flooded with fake voter identity cards, Urhogide said, “On Wednesday, we had a stakeholders’ meeting with INEC. I don’t believe that anyone who cries wolf is innocent.”
