With the forthcoming 2015 general elections, many individuals have been declaring their intention to run for office.
One of whom is a Catholic priest, Francis Eworo, who recently declared his intention to run for the office of governor of Cross River state, Daily Trust reports.
The Catholic priest, reportedly set to contest under the platform of the ruling party, People Democratic Party(PDP) has expressed to succeed present governor, Liyel Imoke and continue his work “to formulate good policies that would grow our economy just as it has remained a haven for investors.”
He also intends to unite the church so that it can contribute to the growth and development of the state.
Father Eworo reportedly says he has been involved in the politics of PDP since 1999 was ordained a priest in 1977 and has served in various parishes of the Catholic Church in Ogoja, Ikom, Uruan, Calabar and Akwa Ibom state.
