Yoruba will be the only other African language asides Afrikaans to be supported by the Twitter network. Techcabal.com reports.
On the 1st of March 2012, some young Yoruba youths started a #TweetYoruba campaign on the micro-blogging site, Twitter. Their aim? To get Yoruba supported on Twitter.
Their efforts didn't go Unnoticed. After a few hours of a sustained barrage, Twitter’s translation desk took notice and promised that support would come in a few months.

Of all the Nigerians from Yoruba extraction both in Nigeria and beyond, driving the campaign, one name stood out, Kola Tubosun (@baroka on Twitter), a linguist and Yoruba scholar who was very active in the campaign.
After two years of dedication from a core of Yoruba power translators, the final outcome is a testament to the fact that Kola and his team did a good job. The Twitter localisation staffer they had corresponded with during the campaign recently notified Kola that Yoruba had been added to Twitter’s translation centre.
