9ice Finally Opens Up On Fight With Ruggedman

The truth is gradually coming out years after two popular singers 9ice and his erstwhile friend Ruggedman fought. Five years down the lane 9ice says he has not forgiven Ruggedman.

In 2010, the rumour mill was agog with the story that Ruggedman had affair with 9ice’s ex-wife, Toni Payne.

As if to confirm the rumour, 9ice released a controversial single titled Once Bitten and tongues wagged and the rumour mill claimed 9ice sang about his marriage in the song. Many were quick to say 9ice was referring to Ruggedman as the man he said he caught sleeping with his lover.

To make matters worse, it was almost after the release of the controversial song that 9ice ended his marriage with Toni Payne.

And to rub it in 9ice refused to debunk the rumour even when their close friends urged him to thus giving credence to the insinuations.

But for the first time in five years, 9ice opened up on the controversy surrounding his fight with Ruggedman. Speaking on a TVC programme, Entertainment Splash, 9ice explained that he is yet to forgive Ruggedman.

According to him, he cannot forgive the rapper because what caused the rift between them is yet to be settled.

He sai: “I can’t forgive Ruggedman if he does not apologise to me.”

When asked the offence the rapper committed, the singer, who is now a Special Assistant to Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, said: “He interfered in another man’s matter.”

He further revealed that, “Ruggedman did not sleep with Toni Payne, he dares not do that,” saying in Yoruba language that "Iyawo ole ni won ma ngba’, which loosely means “it is only a lazy man’s wife that can be snatched”

The Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman and singer, Abolore Akande popularly called 9ice used to be good friends before controversial circumstances tore them apart.
