- Uchenna Madu tells Uwazuruike to distance himself from MASSOB

- Uwazuruike accused of politicising MASSOB

- Uwazuruike's faction dismiss all Madu's allegations

The brewing rivalry between the Uchenna Madu led faction of the Movement for the Actualization for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and that of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike resurfaced on Monday, February 22, when Uchenna Madu called on Chief Ralph Uwazuruike to stop parading themselves as members of MASSOB.

According to Information Nigeria, Madu in a release on Monday accused Uwazuruike and his group of deceiving Ndigbo with false claims of leading and speaking for the group.

He said: “It is on solid record that Ralph Uwazuruike was expelled from MASOB on 30th of November, 2015 at MASSOB headquarters, Okwe by National/Regional officers because of his (Uwazuruike’s) anti MASSOB activities, criminal tendencies and financial fraud, he went off and formed another group called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) after a week later.”

Madu alleged that Uwazuruike was politicising MASSOB for personal gains which saw him executing government contracts in Goodluck Jonathan’s administration after he promised to use the group to campaign for the ex-president.

He faulted Uwazuruike’s faction recent support for the leader of IPOB and director of radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, alleging that the support was born out of fear that Kanu would expose “their fraud, sabotage and criminal activities against Biafra".

Madu said Ralph Uwazuruike had an anti-Biafra agenda which all Ndigbo and Biafrans in general were aware off, adding that “Uwazuruike’s Biafra only stops at Owerri where he established his paradise on earth.”

He asked:"The duo of Solomon Chukwu (present leader of MASSOB) and Sunny Okereafor (factional National Publicity Secretary) to stop incurring the wrath of Biafrans.”

In reaction however, the Uwazuruike faction of MASSOB has dissmissed allegations by Madu saying Madu’s faction was expelled from MASSOB for sabotaging Biafra.

leader of MASSOB, Uwazuruike faction, Chief Solomon Chukwu who spoke through its national director of information, Sunny Okereafor accused the Madu faction of using the Biafran struggle to gain cheap publicity.

He said:“We won’t allow MASSOB to be distracted by Uchenna Madu and his cohorts. They now work for politicians having been expelled from MASSOB for anti Biafra activities. Chief Ralph Uwazuruike is the founder of MASSOB which he properly handed over to me.

“Soon, we will call Uchenna Madu and his group to order."

Meanwhile a faction of MASSOB has accused the federal government of trying to instigate a civil war through the killing of pro-Biafra agitators.

The group alleged that soldiers were in the habit of shooting people who were gathered for prayers to incite the people of the south east and south-south to war.
