The police in Oyo State have confirmed the arrest of four persons over the alleged murder of one Santa Togo in Saki area of the state. Togo was allegedly shot dead on Aug. 31, in his home at Bodila village in the Saki Local Government Area of Oyo State.
A witness said the suspects broke into their home and demanded for money, adding that the victim was shot when he could not provide any money.
A neighbour of the deceased, Incha Doko, said he was attracted to the scene by the sound of gunshots, and the alarm raised by the victim’s wife, adding that Togo had died by the time he got to the scene.
The state’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Clement Adoda, said there were incriminating evidence connecting the arrested persons with the crime.
He said further investigations were on and that the suspects would be charged to court soon.
Meanwhile, Togo’s corpse has since been released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
