A crisis free society can only be achieved if government deals justly and fairly with the masses, African Peace Foundation, has said.
Disclosing this yesterday when he led a five man team on a courtesy visit to Daily Trust headquarters in Abuja, the President General of the foundation, Prof. Ola Makinwa, said the group has found that the root causes of crises in Africa are injustice and unfairness by those in government.
According to him, all the major crises in Nigeria could be traced to one form of injustices or the other by successive governments.
But he said the foundation has been preaching peace and going around the world to work out peace deal with various warring countries and groups.
In furtherance of its peace advocacy, he said, the foundation will soon organize a peace lecture aimed at bringing together presidents of countries, diplomats, conflict managers, peace brokers and civil society organizations to share knowledge about peace and conflict resolution.
“The benefits of this peace lecture to our nation is enormous, ranging from the promotion of peace and coexistence, academic excellence, reconciliation, good governance, foreign trade, socioeconomic development and national security that for a while have created mental torture in the minds of the Nigerian populace who have been sleeping with one eye open losing lives and property with environmental”, he said.
