- CAN accuses President Buhari of making lopsided appointments into key positions in his government
- The organization says the president’s move doesn’t reflect the unity of Nigeria
The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over lopsided appointments, Daily Trust reports.
According to the YOWICAN this can cause the division of the country that is facing so many challenges in the different geo-political regions.
The group has blamed President Buhari for making lopsided appointments into major federal positions.
YOWICAN president, Eng. Daniel David Kadzai said:
“The appointments are clearly skewed to favour a particular religion or region''.
''We believe this does not reflect the unity of Nigeria, equity, fairness or federal character principles. Men and women of honour and integrity abound in every religion, tribe or region capable of handling important government positions.”
Samson Ayokunle who is the new president of the CAN has earlier warned President Buhari not to treat Christians as fools by giving preference to one religion above the other.
