Flood: Kogi Govt Sets Up Relief Camp

Kogi State governor Idris Wada has set up a temporary relief camp for those affected by the recent flood  at Saint Luke’s Primary School, Adankolo in Lokoja Local Government Area.

The camp, according to the governor yesterday, is to cater for displaced persons affected by the flood at Adankolo,Gadumo,Ganaja and Sarikinoma communities in Lokoja.

In a statement, the governor said funds have been released to the State Emergency and Management Agency (SEMA) to assist in providing food stuff, beddings, mosquito nets as well as other relief materials for those displaced by the flood.

Governor Wada expressed sadness over the plight of those affected by the disaster, saying he would do everything possible to cushion the effect on them. The government assured the people that efforts are being made in conjunction with the Federal Government  to address the problem.
