- President Buhari appends to the appointment of new heads of federal institutions

Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Dr James Bassey Ejue as the new provost of Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River state.
In addition, the appointment of Dr Aliyu Idris Funtua as Provost of Federal College of Education, Katsina, Katsina state, has also been approved.
Mallam Adamu Adamu, the education minister said the appointments of Ejue and Funtua, became operative as from Friday, August 19, stating that it will run for a first term of four (4) years and it was subject to renewal for a second term.
The minister of education made this known in a statement released by the ministry’s deputy director (Press), Ben Bem-Goong.
Bem-Goong stated that the conditions of service of the two new provosts included remunerations and little benefits, which would be approved for provosts in Federal Colleges of Education in the country
Ejue, a Niger Deltan is 52 years old. He has a doctorate degree in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Calabar, Cross River state.
Before the 52-year-old academia’s appointment was approved, he served as the provost of the Cross River state College of Education, Akamkpa.
On Funtua’s part, he is 56 years old. He has his Ph.D in Hausa Language from the Bayero University Kano (BUK).
The former university lecturer was the acting provost of the institution until his new appointment.
It was a few days ago that President Buhari appointed Dr Ezekiel Oseni as the acting managing director of the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND).
