Jail break in Enugu as 2 hardened criminals reportedly escape from maximum security prison

Two hardened criminals have reportedly broken out of Enugu maximum security prison successfully in the wee hours of Saturday, October 7.

In efforts to ascertain the authenticity of the report, the Public Relations Officer of the prison, Monday Emeka, allegedly refused to reply inquiries made to him.

Vanguard reports that Emeka picked the initial first call call but refused to make any statement.

He was said to have, however, failed to pick subsequent calls nor replied text message sent to him.

A prison source who pleaded anonymity was said to have confrmed that two inmates indeed escaped.

The names of the criminals at large and the authenticity of reports is, however, not yet ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Manhunt for the escaped prisons were reportedly underway.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Ogun state police command recovered 15 pump action guns and 14 cut to size locally made pistols from suspected criminals whose offences ranged from armed robbery, kidnapping impersonation to cultism, car snatching and ritual killing.
