Buhari on a mission to tackle poverty - Ekiti N-Power beneficiaries confess

N-Power beneficiaries in Ekiti state have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing them an opportunity to serve and be 'gainfully employed'.

These youths said the opportunity as N-Power beneficiaries, has given them a lifeline from the ravaging graduate unemployment in Nigeria.

The president of the Ekiti state N-Power beneficiaries, Darasola Oladimeji, said the federal government's initiative has brought hope to many youths across Nigeria.

Oladimeji while speaking at the maiden anniversary programme of the group in Ado-Ekiti said the monthly N30,000 stipend and provision of electronic devices for the beneficiaries across the country has gone a long way to keep Nigerian graduates enlisted in the scheme away from criminal vices.

Describing President Buhari as “a man who is on a mission to tackle the poverty rate in Nigeria”, Oladimeji urged the federal government to ensure beneficiaries get permanent jobs or financial assistance at the end of their two-year programme.

He said the financial assistance would help entrepreneurs among the beneficiaries set up their businesses.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the federal government warned all applicants for the N-Power scheme against bribe.

The FG had announced that any N-Power candidate caught making illegal payments will be disqualified.

The federal government also urged the applicants to challenge anybody asking for money and report them on its channels.
