Lamido fires APC, Buhari’s government again as he visits Enugu ahead of 2019

- Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa state, speaks about the ruling APC and the Buhari administration

- Lamido says the APC has failed to unite the country better than the PDP

- He declares that the APC is peopled by politicians that lack power to put the country right

A former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, was in Abia on Tuesday, January 24, where he reportedly described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as government of amateur politicians that lack the power to unite Nigerians.

Daily Trust reports that Lamido, who is eyeing the presidential seat in the 2019 election and on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wondered if Nigeria was more secured three years after his party lost to the Buhari administration.

The report said Lamido’s campaign council visited Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the leadership of the PDP in the state with the former governor asking if Nigeria was more united now than in the period the PDP ruled the country.

“Are we more humane? There are crises everywhere in the country, between Fulani herdsmen and farmers, where have we gone wrong as a country?

“The APC government has no capacity to keep Nigeria united; they are people who are actually learning governance on the job and they are making dangerous mistakes.

“This is not in our best interest, they are amateurs. How do we save Nigeria from the hands of this present government?” He said.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Ikpeazu pleaded with Nigerians for unity irrespective of tribe and political differences.

Lamido's claim is coming at the the same time Legit.ng reported how Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former president, on Tuesday, January 23, asked Muhammadu Buhari, not to seek re-election in 2019 as he is already being pressured to do by some Nigerians.

In a statement: The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement, Obasanjo said President Buhari has performed far below expectation just as he added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not the solution to the country's challenges.
