In a related report, Adamu Jumbam, father of Aisha Adamu, one of the Dapchi schoolgirls who lost their lives in Boko Haram captivity, has questioned the circumstances that surrounded the abduction and subsequent release of the girls by Boko Haram.

Jumbam, who is currently mourning his 16-year-old daughter, said that rather than the Nigerian soldiers combating the insurgents after they came back to drop the girls, the soldiers simply ' "watched with folded arms while the insurgents left triumphantly", Premium Times reports.

Legit.ng notes that while speaking in tears amidst a large crowd of mourners and sympathisers that throng his family home in Jumbam, the bereaved father said he has lost faith in the Nigerian government.

Meanwhile, the federal government has been asked by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) group, to return to the negotiation table in order to secure the release of Liya Sharibu, the only Christian among the 110 girls who were abducted from the school in Dapchi, The Cable reports.

The appeal was made by the group’s director, Ishaq Akintola, on Thursday, March 22, following the release of 104 girls.

Legit.ng gathers that Akintola chided the insurgent group for not releasing Sharibu; describing the move as ‘faulty and un-Islamic’. According to the director, the decision to hold on to Sharibu was a ploy by Boko Haram, to divide Nigeria.

MURIC also lauded Sharibu, for her courage in refusing to bow to pressure, in violation of her fundamental human right.
