SDP candidate will be president in 2019 –Adeniran

- Tunde Adeniran has said that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) will win the 2019 presidential election

- He said the presidential candidate produced by the party will clutch Nigeria's seat of power

- According to Adeniran, the SDP would not tolerate impunity and other practices that negate democratic process

A former minister of education, Tunde Adeniran, has said that the candidate that will be produced by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) will win the 2019 presidential election.

Adeniran said the party has through consultations and research is focused on ousting the president All Progressives Congress-led party out of power.

Speaking with Punch, Adeniran said the SDP would not tolerate impunity and other practices that negate democratic process.

"Of course, we also believed that we will never tolerate impunity, imposition and those practices which will negate democratic processes and practices. So, the SDP, at the end of the day, won our hearts against all other options because of what it offered," Adeniran said.

The party’s ideology is social democracy. If you are a democrat, you believe in the people, and you believe that everything should revolve around the people, from A to Z.

"Whatever you’re planning, you should plan about the well-being and security of the individual, to meet the basic needs of the individual and (plan) how the individual should be given an enabling environment to let him or her actualise his or her potential.

You can go about your duties without fear of molestation and without fear of being decimated again," he said.

Legit.ng previous a former governor of Anambra state, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek a second term in the forthcoming 2019 presidential election.

Ezeife argued that age is no longer on the side of the president.

He also said the stress associated with the office of the Presidency was already having negative effects on his health.
