The Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration in Ondo state has been accused by the state chapter of the Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN), of not making any significant impact since assuming office 16 months ago.

The accusation was leveled by the state chairman of the party, Biyi Poroye, during the first stakeholders meeting of the party on Friday, July 20 in Akure, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Poroye insisted that the Akeredolu government has not recorded any achievement since its inception.

He said: “We are not happy with the performance of the Ondo state governor. It is ridiculous that close to two years in office, Mr Governor has done virtually nothing to the mandate he got from the people of Ondo state.

“Regrettably, the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has suddenly been abandoned to the extent that it presently serves as a dysfunctional agency.”

Reacting to Poroye’s statement however, Akeredolu’s chief press secretary, Segun Ajiboye, stated that the allegations were ill-conceived and malicious; and that the MPN chairman was oblivious of happenings in the state.

He said the Akeredolu administration had touched all spheres especially in the area of road construction; and advised Poroye to to move round the state to see what the administration had done so far before criticising the governor.

Ajiboye said: “We have performed creditably well in all the sectors of the state’s economy since the inception of this administration; and the good work will continue, as we have touched virtually all sectors - education, agriculture, health and roads.”
