Kogi is one of the states of Nigeria. It is placed in the central part of the country. Kogi state news calls it the state of confluence, as there is the junction of rivers Niger and Benue.

The municipal centre of the state, according to Kogi news today, is the town named Lokoja.

This state is one of the youngest, as it was formed in the year 1991 due to the confluence of two other states, and there are almost 4 million people living there.
