Yobe State, Nigeria

Yobe State is situated in the northeastern region of Nigeria. It was established on August 27, 1991, when it was separated from Borno State. The capital city of Yobe State is Damaturu, and its largest and most populous city is Potiskum.

In 2006, the population of Yobe State was recorded as 2,321,339. As of 2021, it is estimated that the population of Yobe State has grown to 4,000,000.

Yobe State University is located in the city of Damaturu. It was founded in 2006 by Alh. Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who was serving as the Executive Governor of Yobe State at the time. The university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
